Honor Series – Solo Show
February marks the month of my solo show at Tiffany’s Art Agency in Hawi. Looking forward to seeing how this latest body of work is received.
Forests For Life
Journey Series
Inspired by the platters Tiffany and I used to create together, I felt compelled to create a series of work that reflected the journey and launched it in my solo show at Tiffany’s Art Agency for the month of February. It was a success!
Wooden Transformations – Solo show
New Gallery
Happy to share we opened a new gallery in Hawi featuring my work!
Abstract Only
Honored to have two works accepted in the Abstract Only Exhibit at the Wailoa Art Center in August. Neida Bangerter from the Maui Arts & Culture Center serves as the juror and selected 57 works from the 206 entries.
Summer Shows at Four Seasons Resort Hualalai
New works in progress for the Hawaii’s Master Artists Series presented by Tiffany’s Art Agency and the Four Seasons Resort Hualalai.
Looking forward to sharing a special meal inspired by my art and talking with collectors during the Dinner with the Artists Experience on July 7th, and to the Collectors Reception and Talk Story on July 8th. It’s going to be a lot of fun.
Fun with Furniture
Every now and then a commission request comes in for a piece of furniture, and I enjoy those, too. This Connections console table was requested after my original set had sold. The interwoven colors in the top add to the shimmer of the curly koa, yet they are a real challenge to create. Despite the moments when I’m pushing my limits, happy clients make the entire experience a fun one from start to finish.
Commissions
When a client emails a photo and shares how happy they are with the finished work of art, it feels amazing.
This piece was commissioned by a couple in Honolulu–a 48″ h x 60″ wide colorflow and koa painting featuring Diamond Head. Piecing together all the curly koa to create the mountain was a fun challenge. I enjoy making the grain directions flow to create the ridges and valleys. The painting itself always poses a challenge since its 90 percent me, and 10 percent chance. The colorflow process always continues to move and migrate after I’ve done my best, but it’s part of the thrill–never really knowing how it’s going to finally turn out.
Having my creations bring joy to my clients–that’s the priceless part of this life.
Warm Waters Show
Grateful to share that my work is currently on display alongside the incredible work of Kristie Kosmides at Henderson Design Group at the Shops at Mauna Lani. You can preview the show here.
